The BRE will be launching their New Homes Standard, the replacement to the Code for Sustainable Homes, at Ecobuild in March.
The standard is being developed following the recent Government review of housing standards. It will provide developers and landlords with the opportunity to differentiate their product in the marketplace by recognising quality and performance beyond minimum regulation, and provide increased quality and choice for the consumer. The launch at Ecobuild will include the unveiling of the name and branding of the standard, which has been developed following extensive consumer research with homebuyers and tenants. It will cover issues that are critical to the design and operation of a high quality home, including low energy and water use, improved connectivity and better health and well-being for occupants.
Our Sustainability Team will be attending Ecobuild to find out the latest information on the new standard and how it can help our clients achieve their sustainability objectives.
