Rund Partnership congratulates Littledown Centre on recently scooping a prestigious fitness industry award, being crowned Local Authority/Leisure Trust Gym of the Year at the 2016 National Fitness Awards.
Littledown, managed by social enterprise BH Live in partnership with Bournemouth Borough Council, is set in 47 acres of parkland and with some of the finest leisure, swimming, football and gym facilities in the country is ranked among the top performing leisure centres in the UK.
Littledown recently underwent a £1.7m transformation project, in partnership with the council to improve and extend its facilities. Rund Partnership was appointed by Bournemouth Borough Council to undertake employer’s agent, designer, clerk of works and CDM services to manage the internal refurbishment and extension of the Littledown gym. Rund Partnership was appointed for the initial design from concept to construction, coordinating the mechanical, electrical and structural elements of the design, as well as assisting in the resolution of the specialist fitness equipment fit out. Services were provided throughout the project to manage the construction period to completion.
On winning the award, Mike Lyons, BH Live’s Director of Sport and Leisure commented “This is a fantastic achievement – and we were up against some very stiff competition. We have a great team who are passionate about making Littledown a great place for everyone to get more active. Together with Bournemouth Borough Council, we are creating some of the UK’s finest facilities.”
