Over 60 delegates attend Construction Update

We were pleased to welcome over 60 delegates to our successful recent Construction Update Breakfast Seminar, held in conjunction with Blake Morgan.

Michael Swainson of the BRE highlighted the issues around overheating in new buildings. With increasing levels of insulation, air tightness, and the specification of communal heating systems to meet CO2 reduction targets, overheating is starting to become a significant issue for new apartment blocks, particularly in urban areas.

Claire Westron from Rund Partnership looked at the latest update from the Housing Standards review and the new standards that will replace the Code for Sustainable Homes as the Code is wound down during 2015.

Finally, Richard Wade of Blake Morgan’s construction team commented on the lessons learnt from the Walter Lilly vs Mackay Case.
