Rund Partnership Limited has been appointed as Employer’s Agent for the conversion of Orchard House for Raglan Houisng Association. The existing building is currently a redundant office building in Southampton’s new Station Quarter North regeneration area, and is being converted into 25, one- and two-bedroom flats.
The news comes after the housing association secured almost £2.5 million from The Homes and Communities Agency to develop 30 empty properties under its Empty Homes Programme. Raglan is working with Southampton City Council to deliver the new accommodation scheme. The award is the biggest allocation of Empty Homes grant funding awarded to a housing association in the South.
The Orchard House redevelopment will also benefit from the Government’s new permitted development rights which allow the building to be converted into housing using a streamlined planning permission process.
