Reflecting on our 35th anniversary year

2022 has been a momentous year at Rund, full of positive achievements which have made our 35th year of business especially memorable.

Here are some of our key highlights from the past 12 months.

Anniversary celebrations

1st April marked our official 35th birthday. On the day, we shared some of our most notable milestones over the past three and a half decades, matched with our core company values of People, Clients, Collaboration, Quality, and Integrity.

We profiled our longest serving employee, Hilary Watson, who gave a first-hand perspective of her career at Rund and the business’ evolution since 1987.

We donated £35 on behalf of every staff member to charities of their choice, contributing to our £4,230 total donations pot this year for various local and national charities.

More than 150 valued clients, colleagues, and others from our wider industry also joined us at our special 35th anniversary event for an evening of reflection and celebration.

New appointments

We were thrilled to be appointed on six new frameworks this year:

Our Build to Rent experience continued to be recognised as we celebrated numerous new appointments on major schemes, including our commission as Independent Certifier / Independent Employer’s Agent at Sherlock Street, Birmingham with Get Living and Watkin Jones. In addition, our appointment as Employer’s Agent and Quantity Surveyor at Bowback House in Milton Keynes with HG Living.

Various long-term clients also commissioned our expertise on a range of new schemes including Tipner in Hampshire, where VIVID appointed us as Project Manager, Employer’s Agent and Quantity Surveyor. Abri also engaged us on several schemes including its flagship prospective regeneration project, Sawyers Close, and its joint venture with Thakeham, West Horsley.

Team expansion and progression

We welcomed a wealth of new talent to our team, strengthening each of our offices with new additions across all levels including our board of Directors. Paul Shilling joined us as Director to drive the enhancement of our Building Surveying service across the UK, while Stuart Binnie became our newest Associate Director to lead the Bristol office.

Many employees were also rewarded for their outstanding work through promotions and qualification achievements. We value every team member at Rund for their unique contributions to the business and for helping us uphold our reputation as ‘The Consultant of Choice’.

Wider industry recognition

We were delighted to have been named one of Building Magazine’s Top 150 Consultants, climbing up the league table and placing in the top ranking for the second year running.

We also enhanced our support for established industry events this year. Alongside our team’s attendance at key conferences including Housing 22 and CIH Bristol, we sponsored and exhibited at two Bisnow events – the Build to Rent Annual Conference in June and the Living Sector Update in November.

Thanks to our team and clients

We would like to thank all our hard-working employees for their fantastic input, helping us secure multiple new appointments, extend our services and make exceptional progress on existing projects.

We also thank our valued clients for supporting us during a key milestone year and helping us continue to grow and thrive as a business.

We are looking forward to sharing a new year of opportunities and achievements with those who have made Rund the success it is today.
