Southampton City Council have shown support for the new Home Quality Mark standard, the successor to the Code for Sustainable Homes.
The consumer focused standard, developed by the BRE, will enable house builders and developers to demonstrate performance beyond the minimum requirements of the building regulations. Key areas of the scheme include flooding, safety and security, energy efficiency, local amenities and transport.
Southampton City Council are now encouraging developers to meet the Home Quality Mark standard on new developments through their Sustainability checklist system.
It will be possible to register developments under the scheme from the summer. Rund Partnership’s BRE licensed assessors will be able to advise on how to achieve the mark, building on our 10 years of experience of delivering EcoHomes and Code for Sustainable Homes assessments.
