Hackney Council has engaged Rund’s highly reputed Clerk of Works services at Britannia – a significant mixed-use scheme in the heart of the east London borough.
Project Background

Located next to Shoreditch Park, the Britannia project is the council’s biggest investment in the Shoreditch area for a generation to create new community facilities and address the area’s increasing need for much-needed, high-quality homes. More than 80 homes for social rent and shared ownership are set to be delivered overall, alongside homes sold outright to help fund the project. A new secondary school and state-of-the-art leisure centre have already been completed as part of the Britannia masterplan.

We are appointed on Phase 2B of the scheme, which involves the creation of private and affordable tenure homes across four residential buildings, alongside new commercial and amenity spaces. Biodiversity enhancements will also continue as a core part of the scheme, with 100 new trees planted and new wildlife habitats created.

The Solution

Our role as Clerk of Works will be critical in helping Hackney Council deliver high-quality standards consistently across all homes. We will continually monitor progress, ensuring quality remains paramount across all aspects of the project. Our qualified and highly experienced team will conduct thorough quality control procedures, including on site monitoring and testing, drawing and specification reviews.
