Clarion Housing Group has appointed Rund's Clerk of Works services for a £90 million partnership deal with developer London Square, involving the delivery of 100 per cent affordable housing across two sites.
Project Background
Charter Square, located in Staines-upon-Thames, is one of the sites and involves the creation of 104 shared ownership homes in place of a former office block. The affordable homes will benefit from strong transport links and access to high-quality amenities, as London Square is in the midst of a £120m regeneration scheme on an adjoining site. This includes development of a new public piazza, gardens, playground, new retail units, new homes for private sale, a gym and co-working spaces.

London Square will deliver the project and is known for its best-in-class developments, with its partnership with Clarion Housing Group unlocking much-needed high-quality housing at accessible price points. Our Clerk of Works service is fundamental for ensuring quality standards remain a top priority throughout development.
The Solution

Our scope of work includes intricate quality monitoring, identifying any risks and defects throughout the building process and recommending corrections to help mitigate issues. This also involves checking the quality of building materials and workmanship against specifications, as well as compiling detailed reports of work.

Staying true to our renowned ‘hands-on’ approach, our role involves a frequent amount of time on site, overseeing and managing the developer’s performance.

The two-year Charter Square project will be delivered by both Clarion Housing Group and London Square Partners, the developer’s division focusing on working with registered housing providers in the public sector.

Rund is also appointed as Clerk of Works at a second site in Neasden, North West London, as part of the partnership deal between Clarion Housing Group and London Square.
