Regal London is one of London’s leading privately owned mixed-use real estate developers. They focus on residential for sale and build-to-rent schemes, combined with mixed-use opportunities including hotels, flexible workspaces, retail and logistics. Using an existing office planning permission as the benchmark, Regal London recognised the opportunity to optimise the building design allowing 14 floors of hotel accommodation to be delivered in substantially the same building envelope as the previous 11 floors of office accommodation.
Completed in 2021, the hotel is operated by Wilde Aparthotel of Staycity. Wilde offers guests home comforts - including a fully equipped kitchen - and hotel services such as 24-hour reception, but with the addition of superior interior finishes including natural timber flooring, bespoke joinery, crafts, artwork and soft furnishings.
As Clerk of Works, we carried out stringent quality control procedures across the development. Our scope of work included inspecting work and cross-checking against drawings and specifications, as well as identifying and suggesting rectification methods for any issues and defects during construction. We also regularly contributed to and attended progress meetings, providing our client with detailed progress reports.
Our role as Clerk of Works was instrumental in ensuring all site operations and construction works complied with the Development Agreement, Employer’s Requirements, and current legislation. We also ensured all works were delivered to the highest quality standards, in line with detailed specifications, budgets and timescales.
