Daedalus Village

Rund is working with long-term client, Abri, on its award-winning Daedalus Village scheme, with Rund providing Employer’s Agent and Clerk of Works services.

Project Background

Daedalus Village, located in Gosport, was awarded a Silver accolade for Best Starter Home Scheme in the What House? Awards 2020. The awards recognise developments which offer variety, quality, and value for money for first-time buyers getting onto the property ladder.

The scheme, which is being delivered by Abri and Wates Residential, involves the redevelopment of a former military base and includes 200 new homes. The scheme forms part of a larger regeneration scheme for the southern edge of Solent Airport. Rund is working with Abri to deliver 80 of the units, comprising one and two bedroom shared ownership apartments and houses.

The Solution

Rund has been involved in the scheme since its pre-contract stages, providing detailed contract administration as part of our Employer’s Agent services. Our Clerk of Works team has been closely monitoring all affordable housing-related works on site, ensuring only the highest quality standards are achieved.

The Daedalus Village award win is testament to the level of care and detail that has gone into the development, with each home finished to a high specification and complemented by the surrounding Hampshire countryside.

Each home at Daedalus Village is thoughtfully designed to encompass the location’s rich history. In addition, the area offers panoramic views across The Solent, with a nearby beach, country parks and high street on its doorstep.
