Network Homes, appointed Rund as Clerk of Works on its Thrayle House project in one of South London’s liveliest districts.
Project Background
Thrayle House, situated in Brixton, comprises 177 units split between private sale and social rent, plus a proportion of housing designed for senior living. The development also features an underground car park and outdoor communal space.
As dedicated Clerk of Works, Rund was involved in inspecting and ensuring the quality of works on site from start to finish. Spending a significant time on site as the “eyes and ears” for Network Homes, our role centred around checking that specifications were correctly delivered to the highest quality and in line with the agreed programme.
With our dedicated fire stopping Clerk of Works, we undertook a thorough review of the construction programme. Our initial review identified the requirement for additional smoke detection in voids, and by noting in the drawing review stages, meant that installations could be incorporated within the construction process – avoiding significant costs and delays.
The Solution
Our Clerk of Works expertise in Mechanical & Electrical commissioning, installation and testing was crucial for ensuring different specifications for the mixture tenure units were delivered. Using in-house expertise gained from previously working in similar trade roles, we were able to provide thorough recommendations on specific requirements such as underfloor heating and air conditioning units.
