Long-term Rund client, Abri, one of the south’s largest housing providers, has appointed us as Project Manager, Quantity Surveyor and Principal Designer at Sawyers Close – a £100 million prospective regeneration project.
Sawyers Close involves the potential creation of high-quality, mixed tenure homes at an existing residential development within the Dedworth area of Windsor. The project forms part of Abri’s mission to deliver at least 12,500 homes by 2030 to help solve the housing crisis and give more people access to safe, quality homes.
Abri has been working closely with the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead to understand the future housing needs of current residents at Sawyers Close. Last month, Abri and the council launched the first phase of an extensive consultation programme with the local community, inviting residents to contribute their thoughts to ensure a fully collaborative approach.
Stuart Binnie, Associate Director at Rund commented: “Abri recognises that all existing residents play a critical part in helping shape the future of Sawyers Close, so should have every opportunity to contribute their thoughts and ideas. The company is committed to creating thriving communities across southern England through close engagement with local stakeholders, ensuring projects are mutually beneficial to all involved.
“Sawyers Close has the potential to set high standards for regeneration projects across the country, and we are delighted to contribute our multi-disciplinary services to support Abri’s efforts.”
We will assist Abri’s community consultation programme throughout 2022, with each step feeding into the design and specification prior to the agreement of its final scheme. Our extensive range of responsibilities includes thorough cost planning, value engineering, stakeholder engagement, and management of all third parties involved in the project.
