Mental Health Awareness Week 2023 – Minimising Anxiety at Work

Yesterday marked the start of Mental Health Awareness Week 2023, with this year’s theme being Anxiety.

Anxiety is one of the most common mental health problems we can face – it is a natural response to the uncertain world around us. In a recent study, a quarter of adults said they have felt so anxious that it stopped them from doing the things they want to do some or all of the time.

At work in particular, anxiety can include worries about job performance, working relationships and upcoming deadlines – to name a few. However, there are steps that individuals can take to manage this anxiety and improve overall wellbeing on a day-to-day basis.

At Rund, we are on a continuous mission to be the ‘Employer of Choice’. This includes ensuring we have a comprehensive wellbeing support scheme in place which is regularly communicated to employees and underpinned by various other benefits - including regular team socials and away days, access to local green spaces, weekly fresh fruit deliveries, a cycle to work scheme and wedding/new baby vouchers – to name a few.

Through our ongoing support for our company charity, The Lighthouse Club, our employees also have free access to high-quality wellbeing resources such as the clinically approved Sleepstation programme and a regular suite of mental health CPDs.

In maximising visibility of issues relating to emotional, physical and financial help, we can help play a role in minimising anxiety for our employees both in and out of work – with Mental Health Awareness Week providing an excellent opportunity to do so.
