Clarion Housing Group progresses next phase of South West development strategy with Rund as Clerk of Works

Rund is proud to be providing Clerk of Works services for Clarion Housing Group as it progresses a major affordable housing scheme in Bristol, as part of the company’s long-term growth strategy for the South West.

City Gateway is a 135-home scheme involving the creation of a mix of affordable housing in Bristol’s city centre, including shared ownership and social rent tenures. 56 one-bedroom and 79 two-bedroom apartments will be developed within three blocks, ranging from five to seven storeys.

City Gateway forms part of Clarion Housing Group’s ambitions to build 50,000 homes over the next ten years. As the largest housing association in Europe, the company’s mission is to help tackle the housing crisis by building high-quality homes and creating sustainable and thriving communities.

Cameron Cappus, Managing Clerk of Works at Rund commented: “We are delighted to work closely with Clarion Housing Group to help grow their presence in the South West, as we invest more resource into the region after recently opening our Bristol office. City Gateway will help bolster Bristol’s strong reputation as a burgeoning residential, cultural and economic hub, and we’re looking forward to joining Clarion Housing Group as an extension of their team in this next exciting chapter of their development strategy.”

Clarion Housing Group has purchased the site at City Gateway under a Land and Development Agreement with Vistry Partnerships. Our role as Clerk of Works is instrumental in ensuring all site operations and construction works comply with the Development Agreement, Employer’s Requirements, and current legislation. We will also ensure all works are delivered to the highest quality standards, in line with detailed specifications, budgets, and timescales.
