Rund and Savills co-host 'Partnerships in Property' roundtable

On Thursday 6th February, Rund was pleased to co-host its inaugural roundtable event in Nottingham alongside Savills, centred on ‘Partnerships in Property.’

Bringing together a diverse group of industry professionals, including housebuilders, Registered Providers, and BTR operators, the event featured a distinguished panel of senior executives from both Rund and Savills.

Presentations included a national market update from Savills’ residential research team led by Lydia McLaren, Associate Director. Directors at Savills, Ann Taylor and Michael Donaghy, provided a Midlands Market update on both the affordable and BTR sectors from a range of stakeholder perspectives including landowners, developers, housebuilders, Registered Providers and BTR developers. Stuart Binnie, Associate Director at Rund, provided an update on the UK construction market, covering costs, trends, potential forecasts and trajectories, with Dan Hall, Associate Director at Rund presenting an oversight of the Joint Venture process along with its challenges and opportunities.

The event concluded with an engaging roundtable discussion and audience Q&A, offering valuable insights into the current landscape of the BTR and affordable housing sectors, including the National Planning Policy Framework and challenges facing first time buyers. The conversation reinforced the importance of collaboration and strategic partnerships in addressing such industry challenges and driving sustainable growth.

Tom French, Associate Director at Rund chaired the roundtable, and commented “Collaboration is more crucial than ever in today’s evolving property landscape, and this roundtable event with Savills provided an excellent opportunity to create meaningful discussion. Bringing together a diverse group of industry professionals allowed us to explore the challenges surrounding Joint Ventures, construction costs, and market shifts from multiple perspectives. The insights shared reinforced the value of strategic partnerships in overcoming barriers, driving innovation, and ultimately delivering high-quality, sustainable developments. We look forward to building on these conversations and continuing to strengthen industry-wide collaboration.”

Ann Taylor, Director at Savills commented “This was a great roundtable discussion, with everyone animated and engaged contributing to thoughts on the changes, challenges and opportunities of the residential sector. It generated some positive dialogue around improving delivery to address the housing crisis, the new Government initiatives and the impact and future of our markets.”
