On Thursday 30th May, Metropolitan Thames Valley Housing (MTVH) marked a milestone moment at Old Kent Road, with the completion of the external structures of the two residential towers. Rund is appointed as Employer’s Agent, having previously provided Technical Due Diligence services.
The scheme, located near Brimmington Park in London, is set to deliver 171 new affordable homes, a 16,900 sqft Aldi store, external residents’ amenity space, and ground floor car parking.
Our Technical Due Diligence service proved instrumental in helping MTVH achieve acquisition of the site. Our extensive scope of work included carrying out a detailed review of all site-specific technical and design information, in addition to build contract documents. We also ensured any risks throughout the scheme’s lifespan were identified and mitigated from the offset.
Our role at Old Kent Road continues through our appointment as Employer’s Agent as we carry out specification reviews, risk management, and ensure all client requirements are being delivered.
Will Ashton, Managing Surveyor at Rund commented: “It’s fantastic to be a part of the team delivering this ambitious brownfield redevelopment scheme in the Old Kent Road Opportunity Area. With the creation of much needed affordable housing, a new Aldi store, and the regeneration of a neighbouring park, the local community is set to benefit from a modern, revitalised district that actively encourages a mantra of live, work, and play.
“The topping out ceremony was a monumental milestone in the overall development of Old Kent Road, signifying the progress made so far and providing a platform to discuss the wealth of opportunity the new development will bring to the wider Southwark area. We’re greatly looking forward to continuing to support the team as the project continues to progress.”
