Fun in the Sun

The Rund offices came together, recently, to enjoy another jam-packed day of fun and activity.

This year’s chosen venue was the Hengistbury Head Outdoor Education Centre, situated on the shore of Christchurch Harbour with stunning views over Stanpit Marsh Nature Reserve. With immediate access to the shallow waters of the harbour, it is an ideal place to learn or improve on a wide variety of water sports in Dorset.

The team were fortunate to have the good weather on side and started the day with a staff meeting, al fresco, over breakfast followed by the first set of activities where they could take part in paddle boarding, kayaking, climbing and archery. Getting wet, for some, was certainly the theme of the morning activities!!

A bite of lunch and then the team was split into two groups to enjoy a spot of dragon boat racing where the only way to win the race is to work hard and work together, coordinating strokes, navigated by the instructor. It was a lovely way to see the area from a completely different perspective as they travelled from the harbour up, and past, where the River Stour and River Avon meet.

When the races were over, the staff enjoyed a BBQ with locally sourced food and a brief tipple at a recommended public house nearby, with some staying on to dance the night away.

The staff away day is a wonderful opportunity for staff to relax and enjoy each other’s company and a great way to reinforce inter-office relations. One of the most valued assets to Rund is their staff and the great working relationship they have with each other and these days really enhance this and serve as a great introduction to new staff who get to see, first-hand, that working at Rund is more than just a job.
