Leaside Lock enters third phase of development with Rund as Clerk of Works

The Guinness Partnership has extended Rund’s Clerk of Works appointment at major mixed use scheme, Leaside Lock, as the project moves to Phase Three.

The multi-million-pound scheme, located in the east London district of Bromley-by-Bow, forms part of a wider regeneration project in the Greater London Authorities’ Lower Lea Valley (including Stratford) Opportunity Area. A total of 965 homes will be delivered across all phases, including a community centre, commercial areas, and retail spaces.

Our Clerk of Works services have been invaluable in Phases One and Two of the project, where works continue to deliver 644 homes – nearly half of which will be affordable. We have been monitoring quality, construction, compliance, and progression of works to ensure exceptional build standards are followed. Our Mechanical & Electrical and Fire Stopping specialist services have also been fundamental in aiding compliance with strict safety and quality standards on site.

Phil Smith, Director at Rund commented: “We are delighted to continue our work at Leaside Lock as the impressive scheme takes shape. Our expert Clerk of Works team has consistently provided exceptional consultancy throughout Phases One and Two, ensuring every detail is scrutinised to help deliver top quality construction standards.

“Progressing to the third phase of development is a milestone achievement and we are looking forward to helping The Guinness Partnership deliver more high-quality assets as part of this thriving new community.”

Leaside Lock is making a substantial contribution towards the Opportunity Area’s ambitious targets to create at least 32,000 homes and thriving communities through its regeneration programme.
