This week is Mental Health Awareness Week 2024, with this year’s theme being Moving more for our health.
The Mental Health Foundation promotes the annual awareness week, with recent themes covering ‘loneliness’ and ‘anxiety’. This year’s focus on physical health highlights the importance of its link to mental health and wellbeing as a whole.
At Rund, we are on a continuous mission to be the ‘Employer of Choice’. This includes ensuring we have a comprehensive wellbeing support scheme which is regularly communicated to employees and underpinned by various other benefits, including many related to movement and fitness – such as active team socials, access to local green spaces and walking routes for all offices, a Cycle to Work scheme, and currently – a company-wide step count challenge coinciding with National Walking Month!
Through our ongoing support for our company charity, The Lighthouse Club, our employees also have free access to high-quality wellbeing resources such as the clinically approved Sleepstation programme and a regular suite of mental health CPDs – including on the benefits of movement and fitness.
In maximising visibility of how physical health benefits overall wellbeing, we can help play a role in promoting the benefits of fitness for our employees both in and out of work – with this year’s Mental Health Awareness Week theme providing an excellent opportunity to do so.
