Rund completes the first phase of a four-part scheme on behalf of ESCP Europe Business School (London Campus), acting as Building Surveyor and Principal Designer for delivery of essential high-level, external fabric restoration works.
With six campus sites in London, Paris, Berlin, Madrid, Turin and Warsaw, this prestigious seat of learning claims a history first dating back to Paris 1819, where it founded the world’s first business school and remains the only pan-European school.
Stage 1 (Phase 1), of works at the London campus, was completed in June 2019 after a month of sensitive restoration to high-level masonry features; natural slate roof coverings; leadwork and terracotta architectural embellishments, identified during a preceding period of focused structural inspections and detailed scheduling. Subsequent Stage 1 (Phase 2), Stage 2 and Stage 3 will be programmed through 2020 and 2021 within time periods to accommodate the everyday business operations of the school; which may have up to 1000 students in busy periods. All working methodologies and activities will be designed in a way that will be sympathetic to the building and its stakeholders.
Rund will be responsible for procuring skilled and capable contractors, with a stringent vetting procedures and previous project experience to ensure all tendering contractors have a proven track record and can produce the required standard of works. This will be further enhanced by Rund’s carefully considered and designed specification and quality control procedures throughout the works.
