Promotions Highlight – Senior & Surveyor Career Journeys

At Rund, technical excellence isn’t just a benchmark – it is something we build every day through the dedication, experience, and initiative of our people.

We are proud to celebrate the promotions of five team members who have recently stepped into more advanced professional roles. These individuals have each demonstrated a commitment to delivering high-quality outcomes for our clients while upholding the values that define Rund: clients, collaboration, integrity, people, and quality.

Tom Goater – promoted from Surveyor to Senior Surveyor

Tom began his career as a Quantity Surveyor through an apprenticeship route at London South Bank University and spent seven years in the role before transitioning to Project Management when he joined Rund two and a half years ago. Since then, he has helped deliver a variety of residential schemes, ranging from smaller developments to projects with nearly 300 units.

"Rund has given me so many opportunities to build my experience, whether that’s training, support from colleagues, or learning on-site. It’s a place where questions are encouraged, and development is constant.”

For Tom, this promotion is both a proud milestone and a chance to give back.

“I’ve benefited from great support at Rund, and I want to pass that on to the next group of trainees and graduates.”

Milind Page – promoted from Surveyor to Senior Surveyor

Milind’s journey has been defined by exploration and focus. After trying Employer’s Agent, Project Management and Quantity Surveying pathways, he found his passion in cost consultancy and has progressed rapidly within Rund, moving from Assistant to Senior Surveyor in just two years.

Alongside project delivery, he has also taken a lead role in mentoring, internal initiatives, and improving team efficiency.

“I’ve been encouraged to take on more responsibility, from mentoring new starters to improving internal processes. That trust has helped me grow professionally and shaped how I think about our wider service.”

His new role will allow him to deepen that impact.

“I’m really proud to be recognised with this promotion. I want to continue driving best practice, while helping Assistant Surveyors and Surveyors build the confidence they need to succeed.”

Andrew Doran – promoted from Clerk of Works to Senior Clerk of Works

Andrew entered the construction industry in the 1990s as a labourer and has since built an impressive career in site management, building control, and quality assurance. Before joining Rund in 2023, he worked as a building inspector for NHBC and later supported a national housebuilder in raising on-site standards.

“What I’ve loved about Rund is the investment in development. The CPD offer is fantastic, and I’ve gained qualifications in fire door and passive fire inspection.”

Andrew’s new role will see him lead more mentorship and cross-disciplinary collaboration.

“I’m looking forward to helping newer colleagues and supporting surveyors by sharing insight into common on-site challenges.”

Blu Warmisham – promoted from Clerk of Works to Senior Clerk of Works

Blu transitioned into construction from labouring to site management, spending over 12 years managing sites for national housebuilders. He joined Rund for the variety and values the business offers, including a culture that enables individuals to grow in the direction that suits them best.

“The culture here is a real strength; the business listens and supports you. That stability has helped me focus on growing in my role and contributing to the wider team.”

Blu’s promotion is a chance to shape standards and lead by example.

“I’m a people person, and I love helping others. Whether that’s supporting project teams or raising quality across our work, I want to play a part in keeping our standards high.”

Connor Wilcox – promoted from Assistant Surveyor to Surveyor

Connor’s route into surveying has been anything but linear. After starting a degree in sports science, he changed direction and completed a master’s in real estate before joining Rund with no prior experience. With determination and support from the Birmingham office, he quickly found his place in our Quantity Surveying route.

“I’m my own biggest doubter, so this promotion means a lot. The feedback from colleagues and the pace I’ve been able to progress at shows me that my efforts are making a difference.”

What Connor enjoys most about working at Rund is the variety.

“No two days are the same, especially with both Employer’s Agent and Quantity Surveying responsibilities. And building relationships across projects has made the journey even more rewarding.”

Each of these stories showcases how investing in people leads to stronger outcomes – for clients, for projects, and for Rund as a whole.

Congratulations to Tom, Milind, Andrew, Blu, and Connor on your promotions – we look forward to supporting you all in the next stage of your careers.
