Putting Quality First – Development Partnership Forum

As part of our total commitment to quality in construction, we are proud to be speaking at the Housing Forum’s inaugural Development Partnership Forum for the south and west of England. The Forum takes place this Friday (5 October) from 9:30 – 13:00 at Wiltshire Council Chamber, Monkton Park, Chippenham.

Our Associate Director, Martha Slade, will be presenting our latest case studies and sharing best practice on ‘Putting Quality First’ in construction. Martha, along with other speakers, will be talking to delegates on the new initiatives and latest policy from government in developing quality homes, diversifying housing supply and estate regeneration.

This forum will be relevant to all councils and housing associations together with partnering contractors. Wider diversity of housing supply is critical as housing continues to be a major political and social issue. The Development Partnership Forum is an initiative from The Housing Forum to bring government and industry together to share best practice and support new entrants into housing development.

Our involvement in this forum follows on from our involvement in the Housing Forum’s publication “Stopping Building Failures: How a Collaborative Approach can Improve Quality and Workmanship”. This report prioritises focus on procuring for quality, harnessing innovation and building defect free homes and draws on the experience of Rund and other forum members from across the sector. In one of the report’s case studies, ‘Introducing Quality Hold Points’, we explain how enacting quality hold points in the construction programme can improve quality control.

Our involvement in this forum follows on from our involvement in the Housing Forum’s publication “Stopping Building Failures: How a Collaborative Approach can Improve Quality and Workmanship”. This report prioritises focus on procuring for quality, harnessing innovation and building defect free homes and draws on the experience of Rund Partnership and other forum members from across the sector. In one of the report’s case studies, ‘Introducing Quality Hold Points’, we explain how enacting quality hold points in the construction programme can improve quality control.

Quality in construction is now as critically important as it has ever been. As government signals a range of measures to accelerate and increase house building, Rund will be at the forefront of instilling quality in construction throughout the development life cycle, whilst ensuring commercial and construction considerations are fully understood and realised.
