2021 has been a year full of positive achievements for Rund. From securing a sea of new project appointments to opening a brand-new office in Bristol, this year has been one like no other and we could not be more grateful to our fantastic team for making our success possible.
Bristol office opening
We announced our expansion into Bristol with a new office base, driven by an increasing need for our services within the southwest of England. The decision to add to our network of established offices came as we wanted to support our growth and ambitious development plans. Not only has it allowed us to strengthen our capabilities in delivering services to our existing client base and new clients in the region, but it also takes us closer to achieving our goal of becoming the consultant of choice.
New appointments and progressions
We have secured multiple new appointments over the past year. Highlights include our appointment as Employer's Agent, Clerk of Works and Principal Designer at The Old Brewery, an 100% affordable housing scheme being delivered by Abri in Bristol.
Another notable achievement was helping Grainger plc secure a £141 million deal to forward fund and acquire a major Build to Rent scheme at Merrick Place in Southall. As well as providing Technical Due Diligence and Monitoring Surveying services to Grainger plc, we were also appointed as Clerk of Works for Network Homes which is delivering a wider 575-home scheme at the site.
We have also seen fantastic progress on existing projects including Berewood, which is entering its tenth year of development. We are continuing to support Grainger plc and its for-profit registered provider, Grainger Trust as Employer's Agent and Clerk of Works at the multi-million-pound project in Hampshire.
Team expansion
We have welcomed a wealth of new talent to our team, strengthening each of our offices with new additions.
Our graduate scheme has been thriving as we have helped more individuals realise their long-term career paths.
We have appointed multiple new Assistant Surveyors and introduced more experienced Surveyors to enhance our team.
We have also bolstered our highly regarded Clerk of Works team to help us continue delivering only the highest standards of quality in construction.
Awards and accolades
We were delighted to be named one of Building Magazine’s Top 150 Consultants in its 2021 league table. Our inclusion is a testament to the hard work and perseverance shown by each member of staff at Rund, ensuring the business continued to prosper this year despite the challenging operating environment created by COVID-19. We are also proud to have helped various clients secure award wins for exceptional projects.
We joined Gateway Housing Association in celebration as they won ‘Best Older People’s Housing Development (Urban)’ for their Vic Johnson House scheme at the Inside Housing Development Awards. During its redevelopment, we provided Clerk of Works services, helping enhance the building as a high-quality 100% affordable housing scheme.
As this exceptional year ends, we are looking forward to beginning a new chapter at Rund and building on our successful momentum in 2022.
