Rund engaged across multiple consultancy roles at Welborne

Rund’s multi-disciplinary expertise has been recognised again as Buckland Development Limited has appointed us as Joint Venture Supervisor, Quantity Surveyor, and Clerk of Works at Welborne.

Located in the Solent region, the extensive scheme will create a flourishing new community of 6,000 homes, shops, schools, green spaces business premises and healthcare facilities over the next couple of decades. Buckland is the Master Developer behind Welborne - a Hampshire based company taking a different approach to delivery, reflecting its long-term involvement and ongoing stewardship approach. The company is forming joint venture partnerships with each of its selected Build Partners – Thakeham, Pye Homes, and CG Fry.

We have been undertaking Technical Due Diligence as Joint Venture Supervisor during the pre-contract stages of development. Our role has been critical in identifying and mitigating any potential risks, giving our client confidence in project viability from the earliest stages.

Our services cover the first three parcels of land at the development, involving three separate joint ventures between Welborne Land Ltd (Buckland’s sister company) and each Build Partner. Each land parcel involves the creation of approximately 200 homes. As the scheme progresses, we will provide thorough cost planning and management as part of our expert Quantity Surveying service and carry out extensive quality control procedures as Clerk of Works.

Paul Deakin, Executive Director at Rund commented: “Welborne has grown out of a long-term commitment and vision held by Buckland to create an exemplary development for the Solent region.

“Welborne will make substantial contributions to the local area through its provision of additional public open spaces, community facilities, homes, employment, and retail. A project of such promise calls for expert consultancy which is second to none, to help ensure it delivers on each ambitious objective.

“Our multi-disciplinary role means we can draw from a wealth of specialist expertise across our team to make valuable contributions. The project will benefit from our extensive experience in joint venture agreements, our trusted cost consultancy, and our thorough quality management expertise.”

Welborne adds to our growing portfolio of appointments on joint venture schemes, including Littlemoor in Weymouth, West Horsley in Guildford, and Sayer’s Meadow in Sayer’s Common.
