Rund recently hosted a Clerk of Works Taster Day at our London office as part of our commitment to delivering social value through SNG's Consultant Framework.

Organised alongside SNG's Social Value and Employment and Skills teams, the event gave two SNG residents the opportunity to learn more about the Clerk of Works role through a mix of presentations, practical activities and a live site visit.

The day included a visit to Springfield Hospital, where participants joined members of our Clerk of Works team to see the snagging process in action and gain a better understanding of the role's importance in delivering quality standards on construction projects.

Attendees also heard from colleagues about their routes into the profession and took part in problem-solving exercises based on real-life scenarios encountered on site.

Feedback from participants was extremely positive, with attendees describing the day as informative, enjoyable and a valuable insight into a role they had not previously encountered. Significantly, one of the participants has since been successfully recruited to join Rund's Clerk of Works team and will be starting in September, demonstrating the positive impact that initiatives like this can have in creating pathways into the profession.
