Rund hosts first Graduate Working Group in London

On Tuesday 5th November, we were delighted to host our first Graduate Working Group at our central London office. We invited the seven newest recruits from our graduate programme for an informative morning session focused on supporting their development and providing a platform for knowledge-sharing.

The session, followed by a well-deserved pizza delivery for lunch, was led by Rund’s Graduate Champion team comprising key employees from each office dedicated to supporting our graduates as they progress through our programme.

2024 has marked a significant year for the programme, with our inaugural Graduate Recruitment Day held in March to great success, along with a variety of other collaborative efforts including participation in Warwick Business School’s Graduate Bootcamps in September, and the University of Reading’s Built Environment Careers Fair in October. Each event has helped us to identify and recruit talented and enthusiastic surveyors across the year who now make up our thriving Graduate Working Group.

The first session, hosted by our Graduate Champion Lead and Associate, Will Ashton, covered areas such as:
•    Overview of the Graduate Programme, including objectives, expectations, and degree routes.
•    The APC process and support offered by Rund throughout this process.
•    Individual development planning – covering our structured and systematic approach to personal and professional growth.
•    What it means for Rund to be considered ‘The Consultant of Choice’, including a breakdown of our client approach and company values.

These quarterly planned sessions aim to promote open communication, collaborative problem-solving, and hands-on guidance through professional challenges, ultimately helping each of our graduates gain confidence and develop a clear path toward career growth and APC success.

We’re incredibly proud to do our part in not only inspiring but also equipping the next generation of surveyors to reach their full potential. Through our Graduate Programme and initiatives like the Graduate Working Group, we’re committed to fostering a culture of learning and innovation that supports individual growth and strengthens the construction industry as a whole. By investing in our graduates, we help shape skilled professionals who are ready to drive forward new ideas, uphold industry standards, and contribute meaningfully to the built environment.
