Rund’s Clerk of Works team recently came together at our London office for their annual Clerk of Works Summit.
Bringing colleagues together from sites across the UK, the summit provides an important opportunity to share knowledge and discuss industry developments, drawing on the wide range of experience within the team. With Clerks of Works working across varied projects and construction methods, these events help ensure best practice is shared throughout Rund and applied to future work.
The day featured presentations led by members of the team, including insights from POD factory visits and the inspection processes used when reviewing off-site manufactured components. A session on brickwork used examples to explore good workmanship and common defects, while our Support Services team provided an update on recent developments to Insite, our site inspection software, before answering questions from attendees. An external presentation on luxury vinyl flooring also covered good installation practice and the potential pitfalls of not following guidance.
Beyond the presentations, colleagues had time to discuss challenges arising on projects and exchange lessons learned. The team also considered current industry developments and regulatory changes affecting the profession.
By bringing together expertise from across the business, the summit supports our team's continued professional development. It also helps us maintain a consistent approach and deliver a high-quality service for our clients.
