Rund is highlighting its contribution to helping combat climate change, including offsetting 15 tonnes of carbon dioxide equivalent (tCO2e) over the lifespan of 15 trees, planted through a Carbon Footprint Ltd scheme.
This figure is the equivalent of greenhouse gas emissions from an average car driving over 33,000 miles, or carbon dioxide emissions from charging 1.7 million smartphones.
Rund has been dedicated to reducing its carbon footprint by implementing various processes over the years, such as installing photovoltaic panels onto the roof of their office in Southampton to convert solar energy into electricity.
This year, Rund has committed to planting 15 trees through Carbon Footprint Ltd, a carbon consultancy business that exists to help organisations reduce their carbon emissions, energy and costs whilst developing their robust environmental credentials.
The trees will be planted by a selected school, as part of a scheme to help sequester carbon emissions and educate children on the importance of preserving the UK’s environment and biodiversity.
Paul Deakin, Director at Rund commented: “We are dedicated to upholding our company’s ISO 14001 standards, as this certification demonstrates our awareness of our environmental obligations and commitment to reducing our overall environmental impact.
“We recognise the importance of doing our bit to help sustain our environment for future generations, so we are continually assessing what more we could be doing to offset our carbon emissions and become a more sustainable organisation in the years to come.”
