Sheares Hall, a 350-bed PBSA (Purpose-Built Student Accommodation) scheme in Newcastle, has achieved practical completion ahead of schedule and will welcome residents for the 2025/26 academic year. The project’s successful delivery was supported by Rund through our appointment by HG Living to provide Employer’s Agent, Quantity Surveying, and Clerk of Works services.

Sheares Hall reflects the gold standard of contemporary PBSA developments, with the comfort and convenience of residents driving thoughtful design decisions throughout the building. The 350 beds are a mix of studio and cluster flats, with instant access to an extensive range of communal amenities, including study rooms, a gym, a cinema lounge, private dining, a co-working area, a mahjong room, and an external courtyard.

The development is close to Newcastle University’s Business School, Urban Sciences Building, and INTO centre, which are also within convenient distance of the ‘Newcastle Helix’ innovation district, placing residents within the industrial heart of the city.

Rund’s Employer’s Agent, Quantity Surveying, and Clerk of Works services bring substantial value to PBSA developments. Our work on numerous major PBSA schemes, including YTL Brabazon, Bristol (1,514 student beds), brings significant experience in monitoring costs, programme, and quality.
