London BTR appoints Rund as Employer’s Agent at multi-million-pound East London development

Build to Rent (BTR) provider, London BTR (a joint venture between Sigma Capital and EQT Exeter), has commissioned Rund’s Employer’s Agent expertise at Gallions Quarter. The project is a new residential development set to capitalise on the thriving private rented sector, as explored in Rund’s 2023 BTR Research Report

The scheme, located in London’s Royal Docks, is being forward funded by London BTR and is a joint venture between Telford Homes and Notting Hill Genesis. 132 Build to Rent homes will be developed across two buildings and managed under Sigma’s BTR brand Simple Life London, in addition to 135 homes split between affordable rent and shared ownership tenures. 40% of all properties will be family-sized homes. The project will also feature high-quality amenities including 614 sqm of recreational space, landscaped courtyards, and a concierge.

Our team will ensure the project is thoroughly assessed from feasibility through to completion. Our responsibilities include contract administration and chairing monthly meetings. We will also undertake close and consistent engagement with key stakeholders to build positive sentiment around the scheme, helping to achieve a seamless process from start to finish.

Paul Belfield, Executive Director and BTR Lead at Rund commented: “The development of Gallions Quarter comes during an exciting time for the BTR sector as the market is expected to double in value to £102bn by 2028, according to Knight Frank. In Rund’s 2023 BTR Research Report, I reference how a drop in residential sales and erratic interest rates is expected to continue feeding the sector’s growth.

“As renter expectations increase, there is a fundamental need for such schemes to deliver outstanding quality design, long-term stability, and vibrant communities. To reiterate my concluding point in our BTR report, the success of schemes in 2023 will hinge on offering a uniquely attractive living experience to renters – and Gallions Reach will no doubt deliver through its exceptional quality housing and amenities.

“We are looking forward to working closely with London BTR and the Simple Life London brand to help deliver their wider vision of improving standards within the private rental market, while fulfilling an increasing need for new rental homes.”

Gallions Quarter adds to our continually growing portfolio of Build to Rent project appointments.
