Project Win: Rund is appointed as employer’s agent by Vivid on the proposed redevelopment of Basingstoke Golf Club.
Bloor Homes has submitted a planning application to build up to 1,100 new homes on the golf course and Hampshire’s largest provider of affordable housing, Vivid, will be delivering a mix of new affordable homes on the site under a Section 106 Agreement.
In 2011, the golf club’s 700-strong membership voted in favour for the 43.4-hectare site to be available for bids from developers, after the local council had outlined the site as one of several greenfield sites that could be developed to provide 3,000 homes by 2026. The site has now been allocated for residential development in the adopted Basingstoke and Deane Local Plan and the proposals for the redevelopment of Basingstoke Golf Club provide an opportunity to create a new high-quality sustainable community in a unique landscape setting, within easy reach of new and planned community, recreational and sports facilities.
Vivid have 30,000 homes in the south of England and are planning to build 17,000 new homes for local communities over the next 10 years. We look forward to helping them deliver these new affordable homes for Basingstoke.
