Rund has welcomed a new Senior Surveyor, Aqib Zahir, to its Birmingham office today – further strengthening our Midlands presence and the wealth of experience offered to clients through the team.
Aqib has eight years of experience in the construction industry, with his most recent tenure being Senior Project Manager at a leading national property consultancy. Here, he worked across a number if high-profile schemes including the construction of Corkfield, a 375-apartment development for PATRIZIA, construction of the external plaza at Edgbaston Stadium for Warwickshire County Cricket Club, Phase 1 of the £150m Sheriff's Gate mixed-use development in Worcester and 3AC, a 14-storey CAT-A office development for operating functions of the US Government. His career experience is highly varied, including roles as a Graduate PFI Strategy and Change Officer at Birmingham City Council, and a work placement with CAPITA Property and Infrastructure. Further to this, Aqib has obtained a BSc in Construction Management from Birmingham City University and is a member of the Association for Project Management. Thanks to his vast experience, Aqib has developed a detailed knowledge and understanding of the budgetary, compliance, regulatory and planning framework in which construction projects operate.
Aqib joins our Birmingham team at a highly exciting time, as our Midlands presence continues to expand through new project appointments – for example, at major purpose-built student accommodation scheme St James Boulevard in Newcastle – and an abundance of new starters across the first few months of 2024, adding valued expertise and resilience to the team. We are exceptionally excited for Aqib’s contributions to the business as we continue to enhance our Employer’s Agent and Project Management offerings for our clients across the UK.
