Hazeley Enterprise Park

Rund was appointed as Employer’s Agent and Clerk of Works by Humphrey Farms Limited to oversee the development of four open plan office units on the existing Hazeley Enterprise Park.

Project Background

The project involved the creation of two floors of office space and a central court, with a flexible design to allow for different tenant uses. For example. the space could accommodate either four tenants, or two tenants across the two floors, with all having access to essential services.

These included a disabled passenger lift, car parking, and bike storage. The project also involved outdoor landscaping for enhanced aesthetic value.

The Solution

We helped ensure office units had as much usage flexibility as possible by reviewing specifications and designs at both pre-contract and pre-construction stages. Our Clerk of Works’ proficient quality control measures were vital during these reviews, as we were able to provide expert advice and identify any potential issues ahead of construction.

We also set up and managed regular meetings between the client and contractor, ensuring final specifications were in accordance with all client requirements.

The works were procured by competitive tender on a Design and Build basis, involving the construction of a steel-framed building for a quicker build process and easy open space configuration.

The completed office development now provides a light, spacious and flexible working environment for many businesses. The development is also well located for motorway links and has nearby access to Southampton airport.
