The Ebury Bridge renewal project represents a transformative multimillion-pound regeneration initiative in Westminster, delivering 781 new homes through a mixed-tenure and mixed-use development. Rund was appointed Clerk of Works (Quality, Fire, and M&E) on Phase 1, with our appointment continuing as the development enters Phase 2.
In partnership with Ebury Bridge residents, Westminster City Council is taking forward this scheme with over half of the 781 new homes being for affordable housing. Phase 1 has recently been completed, with a total of 226 homes built, consisting of 16 returning leasehold homes, 110 for market sale, and 100 high-quality council homes - making this the largest delivery of new council homes in South Westminster for 50 years.
Located in South Westminster, Ebury Bridge is one of Westminster City Council's flagship regeneration projects, rejuvenating an existing 1930s estate and transforming it into a sustainable modern neighbourhood. Westminster City Council has committed to bringing about new community-centred redevelopment in one of the UK's most exclusive postcodes. Completing Phase 1 demonstrates the Council's commitment to a fairer Westminster, with all existing residents having the right to return.
Energy efficiency and reducing the estate's carbon footprint are cornerstones of the scheme. The new buildings feature enhanced thermal performance through high-performance building envelopes and mechanical ventilation with heat recovery systems. All heating, cooling, and hot water are provided by an all-electric energy centre, using a combination of ground source and air source heat pumps.
As the Clerk of Works on Phase 1, we inspected and advised on the quality of construction, providing general quality, fire stopping, and M&E inspections to ensure the project was delivered to the requirements and standards expected by the City of Westminster. This project pioneered multi-stakeholder quality oversight through collaborative reviews and inspections.
