Rund is supporting Amro Partners at The Rex, Kingston, as Employer’s Agent and Quantity Surveyor. The development by Build-to-Rent specialists Amro Partners is set to transform the vicinity of Kingston Station and become one of Europe’s most sustainable buildings.

 

Through a joint venture with Amro Partners and NTT UD Europe, The Rex aims to deliver 210 co-living rental homes, offering apartments ranging from 17 to 26.3 sqm. This development significantly contributes to addressing Kingston's pressing housing needs while aligning with London Plan targets.

The Solution

Retaining elements of the existing structure, The Rex will enhance Kingston's street scene and promote long-term investment. It will set a new standard as the UK's premier co-living project with the highest Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) credentials. This project aims to be the first co-living building in the UK to achieve BREEAM Outstanding status in addition to the targeted Fitwel 3*, WiredScore Platinum, and ActiveScore Platinum ratings, emphasising its commitment to eco-conscious living.

 

This exciting addition to Kingston’s town centre will offer an array of shared facilities such as co-working spaces, wellness centres, and inviting communal areas. The design emphasises mental and physical wellbeing, with these spaces catering to the needs of residents, including graduates, young professionals, and key workers, fostering a vibrant and inclusive living environment.
