Property, development, and investment company Charterpoint Group has appointed Rund as Employer’s Agent and Quantity Surveyor in relation to the development of a neighbourhood centre within a new proposed garden village on the outskirts of Maldon, Essex. The neighbourhood centre will comprise an NHS medical facility in addition to retail units and an early years centre. The wider Westcombe Park development will create 1,138 new homes, of which 30% will be affordable. The new community will also benefit from parks, play areas, sports pitches, and allotments, alongside a primary school and nursery.
As part of our Employer’s Agent service, our experienced team is advising Charterpoint on pre- and post-contract construction risks and advising on mitigation measures. In addition, we are assisting Charterpoint in developing a master construction programme and are at the forefront of the tendering and delivery phase. To provide a robust framework for delivery, we have prepared a detailed Project Execution Plan (PEP), which sets out protocols for project management activities, including change management, stakeholder engagement, and reporting requirements. Our advice also extends to planning, legal, and regulatory risks, ensuring the project remains compliant while mitigating potential challenges.
As Quantity Surveyor, we are visiting the site to conduct a thorough investigation of all cost matters relating to the proposed works. This enables the production of a detailed report outlining our specialist estimation of the project’s likely cost, giving Charterpoint expert insight and assurance. Rund is also expertly managing the procurement and tendering stage, where we are managing the production and collation of the tender documentation, and analysing tender returns, ensuring bidding contractors have priced in accordance with the defined scope of works.
